I am a self taught pastel artist specialising mainly in pet portraits and wildlife.

My love of all animals started young, owning many pets from hamsters to horses and I always loved to draw.  I love to capture each animals individuality and character in the drawings and paintings that I produce.

 

Every animal is unique and where possible I do try and photograph and meet my subjects where possible,  but as this isn't always possible I am happy to work from your own photos too providing they are clear.

I use mainly soft pastels, with a few pastel pencils from a number of suppliers, most of my work is done on a special paper which allows me to add many layers to the portrait creating depth and vibrance.  Pastels are almost pure pigment, they are lightfast so the completed portrait will not fade. My portraits are available framed or unframed.

My portraits make unique lasting gifts,  for you or a loved one to treasure and will last for many years to come.

You can find an assortment of some of the many portraits I have completed in my portfolio. I have done dogs, cats, horses and birds,  but if you have a pet of the scaly kind or even more unusual I can do those too. 

 

Waiting times for my portraits can vary, and quite often can be 6-8 weeks. Each portrait can take many hours as I try to add as much detail as possible.​
